What is Educandy?

Educandy (https://www.educandy.com) is an online platform that allows teachers to create interactive learning games for students. By simply entering a list of words or questions and answers, the website automatically turns the content into various engaging activities.

How it works

The process is designed to be simple for both teachers and students.

·   Create: A teacher signs up for a free Educandy account and uses the "Educandy Studio" to input their content. Teachers can choose from different activity types, including word lists, matching pairs, and quizzes.

·   Generate: After the content is entered, Educandy instantly generates a series of different games from the single set of data.

·   Share: A unique access code is created for each activity. Teachers can share this code with their students or embed the game directly on a website.

·   Play: Students can access and play the games on any device—computer, tablet, or interactive whiteboard—by entering the code on the Educandy website or in the "Educandy Play" app. No student account is required.

Features

Educandy offers several game formats to reinforce fundamental concepts, vocabulary, and facts.

·      Game types: Available activities include Anagrams, Hangman, Wordsearch, Crosswords, Matchup, Memory, and Multiple-Choice quizzes.

·      Free features: The basic, standard features are free to use. Teachers can create and share activities with text-based content.

·      Premium features: An annual subscription is available to unlock premium features, including:

o  Unlimited activities

o  The ability to add custom images and sounds

o  Premium support

·      Import options: Users can manually enter questions or import lists from text files.

·      Community content: The platform allows teachers to use and adapt games that have been made public by other users.

Best for

Educandy is best suited for creating quick and straightforward review games for basic knowledge and vocabulary. It is especially popular with elementary-age students, providing a more engaging alternative to traditional flashcards.
